Dayva’s Teak and Hardwood
line is suitable
for a variety of applications, both residential
and commercial, including parks, shopping
malls, streetscapes, restaurants, retirement
centers, hotels and other public areas.
Our Teak and Hardwood is resistant to rot
and weathers gray when left outdoors for
long periods of time. The wood is grown on
plantations where a minimum of 1-3 seedlings
are planted for every one that is harvested.
Most of our furniture is constructed using
mortise-and tenon joinery. This method ensures
a tight, solid joint, which contributes to its
strength and durability. With certain exceptions
where stainless
or hardened steel is required,
all hardware used
in our furniture is made of brass.
Teak and Asian hardwood (as all wood) is
a living material that continues to respond to
the climate condition even after being made
into a piece of furniture.
Left untreated, it will weather to a
silvery gray outdoors. During normal weathering,
wood may crack slightly due to changes in
the moisture. This does not affect the structural
integrity of the furniture. We recommend periodically
applying tung or linseed oil to maintain its natural
finish (wood will darken). If desired, let the
wood gray
naturally by applying NO oil.
